July - Bewdley Museum
There's loads going on at Bewdley Museum during July including a 1940's Weekend and a chance to discover the hidden secrets of the Wyre Forest. For more details call 01299 403573.
Saturday 31st July - St Georges Social Club Open Day
An open day is being held at St Georges Social Club, Radford Avenue on 31st July from 11:00am - 3:00pm. There'll be charity stalls, a ouncy castle, carousel, face painting, a nail bar and a tombola. There's also a performance from the Shepherd School of Dance, plus a raffle.
Sunday 1st August - The Blind Drive Challenge
On Sunday 1st August, St John Ambulance are holding The Blind Drive Challenge Event at RAF Cosford in Shropshire, in partnership with the Beacon Centre for the Blind. It's open to anyone over the age of 10 who'd like to drive round a specially mapped out course, blindfolded! You will have a qualified driving instructor to guide you, and it's all to help St John's continue their life saving work. Games, face painting, first aid demonstrations and a barbecue will all br provided on the day. To find out more and start raising the minimum fee you'll need to take part, call 01905 363542.
Saturday 7th August - Family Fun at Wilden
There's a family fun event at Wilden Cricket Club from 5:00pm on Saturday 7th August, with the theme of "Pirates of the Carribean". You can see a Steel Band and take par in their workshop, enter the kids fancy dress pirate competition, hunt for treasure and have a go at the stocks. From 8:00pm there's a disco and buffet with a raffle. Admission is free and donations will go towards the new childrens play area.
Saturday 7th August - Fete
St Anne's, Bewdley, St Leonard's, Ribbesford and St Andrew's, Button Oak fete is being held on Saturday 7th August at Button from midday - 4pm. There will be a number of stalls, tombola, plant, book, face painting, etc, refreshments, raffle (tickets 50p) - with numerous prizes, including a bike, tickets for the SVR and Safari Park, restaurant vouchers and hamper. They are also privileged to have a Battle of Britain Lancaster Bomber Flypast at the event.
Thursday 17th August - Community Housing Federation Day
Wyre Forest Community Housing are having a Federation Day on the 17th August. Pop into Oxford House between 9:00am and 3:00pm to pay your rent, report a repair or to see Home Choice Plus, and your Federation rep. You can get a free Power Down Plug just for coming in. Saturday 28th August - A Tribute To The Sixties
On Saturday 28th August at Kidderminster Harriers Social Club on Stadium Close, it's A Tribute to The Sixties, starring The Rockin Berries and a 60's DJ. Doors open at 7:30 with curtain up at 8:30 and there's food available. Tickets are £7 in advance or £10 on the door, available by calling Steve on 07834 519520.
Help For Heroes Charity Bash - Sunday 5th September
On Sunday 5th September from 1:00pm to 6:00pm a charity bash is being organised for the Help For Heroes Charity. The event will take place in a marquee in the grounds of Kateshill House, Bewdley. Entertainment will be provided by ColvinQuarmby, and during the event a secret Charity Auction will be conducted, so if you can donate a prize, contact the organisers. Clotted cream teas will be served as part of the £15 ticket price, and all profits will go to Help For Heroes. Call Jayne on 01562 850342.

Worcestershire Rural Outreach Project
Worcestershire Rural Outreach Project offers support to small rural voluntary and community organsiations across the county. They can offer regular newsletters, information factsheets, tips on recruiting volunteers and help to find out about grants available and the application processes. They also have new fundraising ideas and can give you the chance to meet other local groups. If you are involved with or thinking of setting up a group which could benefit from this free service, funded by the Big Lottery, call 01527 837879.
