Help For Heroes Charity Bash - Sunday 5th September
On Sunday 5th September from 1:00pm to 6:00pm a charity bash is being organised for the Help For Heroes Charity. The event will take place in a marquee in the grounds of Kateshill House, Bewdley. Entertainment will be provided by ColvinQuarmby, and during the event a secret Charity Auction will be conducted, so if you can donate a prize, contact the organisers. Clotted cream teas will be served as part of the £15 ticket price, and all profits will go to Help For Heroes. Call Jayne on 01562 850342.
Car Boot Sale - Saturday 11th September
Wyre Forest Navy Training Corps are holding a Car Boot Sale on Saturday September 11th at 7 am. It's £5 a pitch and will be held at Wolverley Memorial Hall grounds. Refreshments will be available. Contact Mike Green for details on 07929 521287.
Country Fair and Horticultural Show - Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th September
The Kidderminster Horticultural Society is again putting on their 2-day show in the grounds of the Ramada hotel on Saturday and Sunday the 11th and 12th of September. It will be open on Sat from 10 to 5.30 with the official opening at 12 noon by Dr Richard Taylor. Sunday opening times are 10 to 5. The entrance fee is only £1.00 with free parking. Besides the various craft stalls there will also be displays of cars and old agricultural tools, walking stick carving, chain saw carving, corn dolly and basket making, working cider press and old-fashioned threshing machine. There will also be a plant sale, gardener’s question time, dancing displays, face painting and lots more. Come along for a slice of home made cake and a cup of tea (both for £1.50) or a ploughman’s lunch or the all day barbecue. Bewdley Museum Heritage Open Day - Sunday 12th September
Bewdley Museum's Heritage Open Day on Sunday 12th September features a selection of costumes from the museum's collection, all on show to mark this national weekend celebrating our cultural heritage. Call Bewdley 403573 for more details.
Harvest Fair - Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th September
On September 25th and 26th Bewdley Museum and Bewdley Development Trust present the first Harvest Fair for Bewdley. It's designed to celebrate the best of the town's food, drink and arts and crafts, and will be centred at the Museum with demonstrations and lots to see and do. Poetry Evening - Friday 8th October
Emma Parker presents an evening of Poetry at the Gallery in Kidderminster Library on Friday 8th October at 7:30pm. Admission is free and food and drink will be available.
Cookley Youth Football
The 6-8 year olds football team at Cookley Sports Ground needs a few more players for the new season. All the coaches are FA qualified and Child Protecetion checked and training takes place on Saturdays from 10:30 to 12:00. Call David for more info on 01562 752152.

Worcestershire Rural Outreach Project
Worcestershire Rural Outreach Project offers support to small rural voluntary and community organsiations across the county. They can offer regular newsletters, information factsheets, tips on recruiting volunteers and help to find out about grants available and the application processes. They also have new fundraising ideas and can give you the chance to meet other local groups. If you are involved with or thinking of setting up a group which could benefit from this free service, funded by the Big Lottery, call 01527 837879.
Specsavers Book Appeal
Specsavers in the Swan Centre are looking for unwanted books to set up a bring and buy book sale. Proceeds will go to Project Playground at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham. Further details from any member of Specsavers staff.
